Miller Beach Tourism Bureau Launches Photo Contest
The Miller Beach Tourism Bureau is hosting a photo contest in July and giving away $1200 in cash prizes for the best photographs of the artsy beach community’s people and places.
Open to anyone, the contest asks shutterbugs to submit up to three original photos that best capture the theme “my Miller Beach.” Entries will be judged by the members of the Calumet Artist Residency, and the top three winning photos will split a $1000 pot. A “People’s Choice” prize will award another $200 to the top three photos that receives the most online votes.
“Capturing Miller Beach in a photo, whether you live here or visit, is a wonderful way to share the incredible beauty and diversity of this place and what makes it so special,” said Peggy Blackwell, President of the Miller Beach Tourism Bureau. “Our photo contest encourages all photographers to showcase their creative skills, share their passion for Miller Beach, and possibly win a lot of money.”
Find full details, upload photos, and encourage friends and family to vote for them at VisitMillerBeach.com or on the Visit Miler Beach Facebook page. Photo entries will be accepted from July 1st through the 15th, and the People’s Choice voting will start immediately after. Winners will be notified August 5th and honored at a party planned for mid-August.
The Miller Beach Tourism Bureau is a volunteer coalition formed in 2017 to promote tourism that encourages economic development while protecting the community’s unique natural resources. Funding for this photo contest came from The Legacy Foundation’s Knight Advised Fund and from MillerBeachVacationRentals.com.
